Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT) is a painless, quick, and very effective non-thermal laser procedure that aims to reduce the intra ocular pressure of our glaucoma patients at Australian Eye Care. It is performed onsite by Dr Goodrich at our consulting rooms, and typically takes no more than five minutes, with intraocular pressure usually dropping significantly within 1-3 days post treatment. As SLT is so gentle and non-invasive the procedure can be repeated, if it is deemed necessary by Dr Goodrich during your scheduled post treatment follow-up visits.

YAG Laser Capsulotomy

Sometimes following cataract surgery, the posterior capsule of the lens (the part that originally held your natural lens, and now holds your intraocular lens implant) can become cloudy. Dr Goodrich has an Nd-YAG Laser which he can use to quickly and relatively painlessly make a hole in this cloudy capsule, which in turn will easily allow light to pass to the retina, subsequently improving your vision.

Laser Photocoagulation (LPC)

Laser Photocoagulation (LPC) is used to treat a number of eye diseases at Australian Eye Care. During the procedure, Dr Goodrich will use a laser to seal blood vessels on the retina to prevent them from leaking. LPC may also be utilised to treat patients with Diabetic Retinopathy who have Retinal Vein occlusions or on patients who have retinal tears with the aim of preventing retinal detachment.
